Death, Then What?

The Map Maker’s right hand guy embarked on an historic journey similar to the footsteps of previous faith filled travelers but also surprisingly new.  A journey with the final goal of bringing us along with him, rising with him, to newness of life.  A hope for which this broken, dying world is waiting on tiptoe with expectation.  After death. New Creation.

Following My Wife

Even for those of you who don’t think of yourselves as being particularly religious or spiritual it may benefit you to know what the world’s largest religion (map reading family) has to say on the subject of death and post-mortem destiny. It’s quite surprising. And like I said earlier, I think many Christians get important details wrong. (Not a fatal error, just seriously mutes our family mission).

A bold claim for a Mountain Man.  I know.  It’s a big subject.  Can I do it justice?  No, I can’t.

But I will try.

In my study I’ve come to realize that we Christians have been tricked into believing something that is not entirely true.  Much good results from that truncated view.  It’s just not fully true.  It doesn’t tell the whole story.  But who could?  Again, I certainly can’t.  Yet I believe something vital has been left out.  At least that’s my take.  I’ve had some time and motivation to think about it.  When I shared some of what I found with Susan, she got excited. It’s a work in progress. See what you think.

But before diving in.  More beauty of God’s creation.

Susan & The Grand Tetons – Sept 2012

***

We took these pictures during our honeymoon trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in September, 2012. [Wildfires in Idaho & Montana created the hazy conditions]. We planned the trip before Susan was diagnosed. But my warrior-queen would not cancel. So during a week long Chemo-break we hiked The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. She’s my Action-figure Hero!
